Last month, I went to the doctor because I had the flu. It all started when I caught a cold while walking outside on a very windy day. I was at the Galata Port in Turkey. That same day, after returning to my apartment, I started to feel ill.

The next day, I had more symptoms. My ears hurt, my throat was sore, and I felt very congested. I put on warm clothes, drank special tea, and took some over-the-counter medicine, but nothing helped. The next morning, I felt even worse. I was faint and started coughing a lot. This went on for a week because I was too stubborn to go to the doctor. I have a fear of needles and injections.

Finally, my Turkish friends dragged me to the hospital. The doctor was not happy that I waited so long. He said the only treatment now was to put me on a drip. I cried when the nurse put the drip in. The people in the room looked at me strangely. They couldn't believe a grown woman was crying over a drip. After 30 minutes, the drip was finished, and I felt much better! I paid a small fee and went back to my apartment feeling better than ever.
